Robert James is the oldest of the James children. Born in New York City to Meredith and Robert James Sr. Like his sister, he was barely raised by his parents, always being taken care of by nannies and then shipped off to boarding school when he was ten. Unlike his sister though, Robert was more serious about school. He excelled in almost everything he did and always tried to please their father in hopes of gaining his approval. Although he and Avery were never close, they barely fought. They respected each other enough to give each other the space they needed.

When Avery found out about her father having a series of mistresses and that their mother had allowed it all because she was afraid of going back to being poor, Robert admitted that he knew about their father’s affairs and kept it from Avery to protect her from it. This upset Avery, leading her to completely leave her family behind and live with their maternal grandmother in a not so well off borough. At the time, Robert had been attending law school in Harvard and often sent some money to their grandmother to take care of Avery. Despite not having a close relationship with Avery, he cared and looked out for her.

Years later, upon hearing that Avery had moved to Town X after coming into a fair bit of debt and Robert having offered to help, which she denied, he grew concerned for his sister and decided to follow her to make sure she was doing well. He took a job as one of the town’s police officers. Polite and gracious, Robert had always been somewhat of a player. He knows how to use the good guy card to his advantage.

I would love to really see her brother in this roleplay because Jamie Dornan. I would love to explore more of Avery’s background and her relationship with her brother. I think this could be an opportunity to have them become close. That and she’d love more people to troll.
